This is a mixed level class for beginner and intermediate students who are interested in deepening their awareness of themselves and their bodies.
The yoga class starts with 10 minutes of grounding, breath and body awareness, followed by a Hatha yoga asana practice and 5 to 10 minutes of relaxation.
The asana practice is a balanced one, ranging from restorative to vigorous, although each student is encouraged to work at their own pace and ability. Postures taught include seated poses, standing poses, balancing poses, forward bends, backbends, twists, introduction to inversions, and restorative poses.
Note: If you have a limited range of movement due to injuries, you may want to take a restorative or gentle yoga class instead.
About the Instructor
Janice is a compassionate, wise and gentle natured yoga instructor with 19 years of yoga experience and 8 years of teaching experience. Her teaching is primarily influenced by Iyengar yoga and Ashtanga yoga. She teaches yoga classes that facilitate people's connection with their own inner knowingness and wisdom within.
